This Privacy Policy explains what personal data ModofWar processes, why that information is used, and which service providers support the website.
Who we are
ModofWar (modofwar.com) is an independent scale-modelling and military-history platform created and edited by Cem Can. For privacy questions and personal-data requests, please use our Contact page.
Our principles
- ModofWar does not sell personal data.
- The website does not currently display advertising.
- Personal information is processed for operating and securing the website, understanding website usage, managing comments and responding to enquiries.
- Non-essential Google Analytics cookies are created after visitors provide consent.
Comments
When you leave a comment, we may process your name, email address, optional website, comment, IP address and technical browser information. Your email address is not displayed publicly alongside your comment.
Comments may be checked for spam and abuse using Automattic’s Akismet service and protections provided by our host. A hash derived from your email address may be shared with Automattic’s Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile image. Further information: Automattic Privacy Policy.
If you select the relevant option on the comment form, your name, email address and website may be stored in browser cookies for convenience when leaving future comments.
Contact forms
Our English and Turkish contact forms use Gravity Forms. The name, email address, subject and message you submit are stored in the website database to review and respond to your enquiry. Notifications are sent to the site editor from ModofWar’s Google Gmail account through WP Mail SMTP.
Gravity Forms is configured to prevent visitor IP addresses from being stored in form entries. Contact-form entries are configured for automatic permanent deletion 180 days after submission. Deletion uses scheduled WordPress tasks and may occur slightly after that period.
Message copies delivered to the editor’s email inbox are managed separately from the form database. They may be retained for a reasonable period for correspondence and record-keeping. Forms may also use anti-spam services such as Akismet.
Website analytics
ModofWar uses Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack Stats to understand website usage. Google Analytics may process information about pages visited, referral sources, device and browser characteristics and approximate location. Google Analytics cookies are created after visitors consent to analytics cookies through CookieYes.
Jetpack Stats may process technical connection information to produce visit and page-view statistics. Its methods can differ from those of Google Analytics cookies.
Cookies and consent preferences
We use CookieYes to manage cookie preferences. You can accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies by category and change your preferences later using the cookie icon displayed on the website.
CookieYes may process consent identifiers, preference status, timestamps, country information and partially masked IP addresses for proof of consent. Records are retained under the terms of the applicable CookieYes plan. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
Hosting and security
ModofWar is hosted by GoDaddy and delivered through Cloudflare. These services may process IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and technical logs to deliver content and protect the website. Sucuri Security, Jetpack security features and host-provided protections may also record suspicious access attempts and security events.
Third-party content
Some pages link to YouTube and other third-party services. Ordinary external links do not open a third-party site until you follow them. Where embedded third-party content is used, the provider may process information or use cookies under its privacy policy when that content loads.
Service providers and international processing
We use providers including Google, Automattic, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and CookieYes to operate the website. These providers may process relevant information on systems outside Türkiye. Such processing is subject to the applicable service terms and data-protection requirements.
Data retention
- Contact-form entries in the website database: 180-day automatic deletion policy.
- Email notifications: Managed separately from the form database.
- Comments and associated information: May be retained until deleted.
- Cookie consent records: Retained under the applicable CookieYes subscription plan.
- Analytics and security records: Retained according to the relevant service settings and policies.
Your rights
Depending on the law applicable to you, including Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion or objection to certain processing activities. Advertising
ModofWar does not currently display advertising. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is introduced, this policy, the Cookie Policy and applicable consent mechanisms will be updated before advertising is enabled.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when our services or data-processing practices change. The current version and its last-updated date will be published on this page.
