Nieuport IV Hydravion

The Nieuport IV was a French sport, training and reconnaissance aircraft designed in the early 1910s. Fitted with two main floats, it was known as the Hydravion.

In July 1914 a French pilot brought one to Istanbul for demonstration flights, and it was bought for the Ottoman forces. There was one single-seat and one two-seat example; the two-seater was named Mahmut Şevket Paşa. It remained in service until 1916.
